Sue brings over 30 years of senior leadership and operational management experience in blue-chip organisations such as the University of Warwick, Oxford University Press, the NHS, and the Work Foundation. She is committed to combining innovative strategic direction and leading people with clarity and thoughtfulness. This led to her election to Chartered Fellowship of the Institute of Personnel & Development in 2006. Sue worked as a coach to teams and individuals on the Work Foundation’s Runge Leadership Programme in the 1990s. She continued to use coaching in her corporate roles and recently updated her practice with a Diploma in Coaching from the University of Warwick.

Sue focuses upon coaching, designing leadership development frameworks, and assessing the impact of coaching on individuals and their organisations. She volunteers as an Independent Governor at the University of Derby and with Crisis, the homeless charity. She was until recently a member of the Local Governing Board at a local independent school, and Vice-President of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services.

Sue is committed to using coaching to support people at significant points in their lives. She understands the difference it makes when an impartial and encouraging coach helps someone focus on what matters to them, enabling them to confidently choose their next steps. She has led large, diverse teams in higher education, the NHS and publishing, in addition to running her own business. This broad background means she understands the complexity and challenge of peoples’ working lives. Much of her experience is in ‘turnaround’ situations calling for urgent action to design and operationalise new strategies, whilst supporting people through the changes with compassion and fairness. Sue gained a reputation for combining strong strategic leadership and resilience with a positive outlook and genuine warmth. She brings these qualities to my coaching.

Sue’s coaching enables clients to: articulate what is important for them and act upon it; choose a way forward that aligns with their values; focus on what needs to be done now, without losing sight of the longer term; find clarity; simplify what felt complex.
