Gerry has 35 years’ experience in both executive and advisory roles as a manager and as a management consultant. He specialises in helping clients build the organisational capabilities needed to grow successfully, whether organically or through M&A.  His clients are based throughout Europe and the USA/North America.

Gerry’s work has consistently crossed boundaries between mid-sized, typically owner-managed businesses and global-scale organisations.  This has given him a perspective that incorporates the responsiveness, agility and unique culture of the smaller firm with the high-productivity best-practices and typically more complex cultural features of global-scale operators.  From that perspective flows the conviction that, whatever the scale or nature of the business, high-performance is ultimately about people.

Following five years in Finance with a global oil and gas business, Gerry cut his consulting teeth and advanced to senior practice roles with BDO, leading assignments in business and marketing planning; performance improvement; and organisation development, including top-team development.  His clients ranged in scale from global giants to mid-sized private clients.  He later worked with Towers Perrin (now Willis Towers Watson), where, as a senior member of the ‘Strategy and Organisation’ team and ‘Sector Leader’ for Oil & Gas, he led business development and M&A programmes for some of the world’s most successful companies, such as Shell, Exxon, Aventis and Sony.
