CEO Transition Coaching

Choice not chance

Tell me more

World Class High Performance

What is the job role like for a great CEO? “…a relentless seven-days-a-week job that demands a joy of being unpopular.”

In 2013 an HBR article identified that "two-thirds of CEOs don't receive any outside advice on their leadership skills, and yet almost all would be receptive to suggestions from a coach."  How are you identifying and sustaining your high performance in a challenging environment?

As CEO how are you improving the quality of choices and decisions that emerge from your senior team?  Nobody makes bad decisions out of choice but when we are unwilling to ask inconvenient questions that might challenge how we view ourselves and our business we can miss the elephant in the room.

The quality of what we do depends upon the thinking we do first.  Enhancing how we think and the quality of our discussions with others builds our reputation.  It reduces errors that otherwise slip in under the radar because we are being distracted by matters of the moment.  Combining quality questions and discussion with intuititve decision making enables us to better understand the underlying issues of our context.

Coaching was once seen as remedial.  It is now accepted that coaching offers a way of learning quickly and achieving outstanding performance. Olympic athletes, actors, football teams, new and old leaders benefit greatly from coaching.

Those who don't benefit are individuals who hold a closed to learning mindset.  Who rely upon their environment not changing beyond their existing coping strategies in order to sustain existing patterns of success.

"The results of having a totally confidential executive coach to support and constructively challenge your thinking in service of your agenda are transformational."

"Best one and a half hour conversation in a decade!"

Miguel Gowland, Managing Director at Oxford Leadership Academy Spain

“I have known Peter for over seven years now, since he advised me on my career as Director of the Careers Service at Cranfield School of Management. Since then I have returned to him on numerous occasions for coaching and input on what I have been doing career-wise. The reasons I value Peter's insights are simple - he is pragmatic and balanced, yet quick to encourage new perspectives and challenge assumptions; he maintains his currency with the latest trends and tools, so his advice is always proactive and refreshing; most of all he is an expert in the art of coaching, with an uncanny nack of getting you to articulate your own solutions. Peter is good at what he does because he has a pure passion for his work, gifted with a personal touch and a strong sense of belief in the individuals he coaches.”
